Sick Leave Entitlement
Employees may earn up to 48 hours (6 days) of paid sick leave per year
Eligibility Requirements
Paid sick leave becomes available only after both conditions are met:
- The employee has worked 30 workdays in California within a 12-month period, and
- 90 calendar days have passed since the employee’s first day of employment
Note: Sick leave accrues during this waiting period but cannot be used until both conditions are met.
Accrual Details
- Accrual starts: First day of employment
- Accrual rate: 1 hour for every 30 hours worked
- Carryover: Unused hours roll over year to year
- Accrual cap: 80 hours (10 days)
- Annual use cap: 48 hours (6 days) per year
Usage Guidelines
Sick leave must be taken in minimum increments of 2 hours
Acceptable uses include:
- Personal or family illness, injury, or medical condition
- Medical, dental, or optometry appointments
- Issues related to domestic violence, sexual assault, or stalking
Request Process
When eligible, employees must notify their client and email support@accurafms.com as soon as practicable. Ideally notify at least one hour before the scheduled shift.
Include the following details and copy the client/participant:
- Employee name
- SDP participant name
- Date and hours of leave
- Reason for leave
